Rupika's Story: "Like an Anglo-Indian grandma would say, hurry burry spoils the curry! This slow-cooked dish traces its origin back to the days of the British Raj. Anglo-Indian cuisine evolved from the British love of Indian flavours, developed over the period of the colonial rule. Anglo-Indian cooking is mild on heat, but relies on Indian staples like onions, garlic, ginger, tomatoes, turmeric, garam masala and other spices for its hearty flavour.

My version of Anglo-Indian chicken curry does not include coconut, and is scented with whole fragrant spices and earthy, ground ones. "
Accompaniments: Steamed White Rice and salad.
Features: No preservatives. No MSG. No Artificial Colours. No Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil.
Ingredients: Fishvish Chicken, red onions, tomato, yoghurt, kashmiri chilli, ground turmeric, ground cumin, ground coriander, ground black pepper, ground garlic, ground ginger, green chilli pepper, Indian bay leaves, green cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon, salt, vegetable oil
Storage: Keep frozen and consume within 6 days. If defrosted, keep refrigerated and consume within 2 days.
Thawing: Defrost in microwave or place container in warm water.
Heating Instructions: Heat in microwave 2-4 mins | Pan: Medium Heat for 3-4 minutes

This dish was recommended to me by the staff at Fishvish. This dish is a very satisfying meal of one individual. The gravy has been balanced with the right amount of spices and is perfect to the palate. The salt and spice is completely under control for this dish and none overlaps the other.

The gravy was excellent, but unfortunately, the chicken pieces were a big disappointment. Out of the five pieces three of them were mostly bones and little flesh. Also, the tenderness in the flesh of the chicken pieces was missing.

The dish would have stood out more and would have been more enjoyable with this excellent gravy, had it been cooked with a full chicken leg allowing the meat to remain juicy on the bone.

Unlike the Bunt Style, this dish had a little more spice making one relish every drop of the curry. The palate acknowledges a distinct taste thus completing the value of the dish. One could request for reduction in the quantity of oil, but it barely floats on top of the rich and thick brown curry base. Another one which qualifies for a reorder! (Posted on 4/16/2017)
